"And what would that understanding be?" He asked curiously.
He knew that phrase: 'That a million suns could not keep me away from you'. He knew she meant it and he felt the same. Some would call it hastey to be like this, so completely in love with Kalindria, though Faust didn't care. When he met Kalindria he fell in love with her looks immediately, then her personality as it was revealed. It just clicked, that his woman was so unbeleivably good for him, that she gave him something that almost no other woman could.

“Oh, it would seem that a few of the younger, more ambitious vampires had decided to take it upon themselves to try and undermine my authority in certain areas that they felt they had every right to act, it is of no consequence, my love, they have been dealt with and will no longer be stirring up trouble again.” She told him, just before placing another kiss on his cheek.
Yes, there had been vampires who did not seem to approve of her relationship with one, not of their own kind and though she promptly made it clear that for whom she decided she wished to spend her time was non of their concern.

Faust also had opposition to his relationship with Kalindria. Politicians thought it bad that he be romantically involved with non-human royalty, servants and other subjects had prejudices against vampires, and of course, some women were just jealous. All in all it was a incredible strain on him, having to listen to all the complaints.
"Wonderful." He murmured as he nuzzled her neck and cheek affectionately. "I know exactly how that is, people undermining authority. It gets annoying, doesn't it."

She laughed slightly. “Annoying would be putting it lightly.” She responded, now turning her entire body around in his arms so that her back rested against his chest and she looked out over the seemingly sparkling garden.
Indeed, it was quite tiresome defending Faust to her subjects, as well, trying to protect his servants from the rather temperamental vampires. She knew she didn’t have to go so far as to see that not a single of his servants, or their families were ever attacked by one of her clan, but she felt obligated all the same.
The question often came about as to rather she would take in, or at the very least, allow a vampire King to reside over the vampires realm with or along side her. Her response was always the same. “If one thinks himself worthy to rule, then all he need do is prove it.” She always got the same silent reply, none wanting to be tested, all feared her, and for good reason. Of course she would allow co-rulership over her realm, but it would have to be one who would be brave enough to confront her and one with an intelligence enough to know where his place stood as well.
Right now, as she looked over the sparkling Garden, with the fairies and fire flies flittering here or there, sparking life to the already alive beauty of the place, her mind thought of the humans, his servants, his people and what it was they thought of her, though she figured she knew what the answer would be and so left the question unasked.
“Such a peaceful night.” She commented instead, as she leaned her head back to rest against his shoulder, taking his arms and wrapping them about her waist, her hands resting on his.

Faust nodded. He looked up into the sky as she placed her head against his, as she put his arms around her. "It is." He agreed. "I'm glad you came here tonight, it looks like all the flowers are in bloom. I guess that is why so many fairies are out today, lots of blossoms to sit on,"
He cuddled close to her and sighed. "I am so happy you and I are together tonight." He whispered genlty. "Looking after an entire kingdom consisting of a number of races is no small feat, it is..." He paused, casting around for the best word to say, yet not so very harsh as what he truely though. "tiresome."

Kalindria stood there, her back against him as he moved their bodies closer together in his warm embrace. She let her lips form a smile, though perhaps not as joyous a smile as it should have been in these perfect surroundings, her love holding her in his arms, the peace filled night, the twinkling stars over head, the moon, her beloved planet of the night, shedding it light down upon the two of them in its soft, yellowish glow. No, she still felt restless, still not at peace herself.
“This time I spend away from you, it breaks my heart…” She spoke, a silent cry in her voice, an undertone that was meant to be kept out, but surfaced all the same. “All the missed moments, your recovery, I should have been there for you…” She continued, taking a short pause, her arms crossing one another, her hands coming up to hold his arms in a soft grasp. “I know that when I look up into the sky, you are under the same, maybe looking up as well and it pains me to know that we are not together to share these moments more often, I wish that we could wake each morning…” She paused again, knowing the ridiculous meaning of the word morning, her foolish dreams of facing the day with him. “If only for once, just once…no, I would give up everything I am just to wake every morning next to you and watch the sun rise far to the east.” She temporarily changed course and then gave a soft, sarcastic laugh that lasted only brief seconds. “I guess, what it comes down to, is that I don’t want to have to leave your side at the beginning of every morning, or the ending of every night…” She finished, trailing off with another soft, sad sigh.

Faust nodded. He also felt that way, that each moment spent away from her was agony. Every time she had to leave, just before sunrise, his heart would break. He wished he could do more, to help her somehow, though it was outside his considerable power to do so.
He wished he could let her walk outside during the day, for her to be by his side during the daylight hours. Obviously it put some strain on their relationship, her having to leave before the sun came up, but it was a strain Faust was more than willing to deal with.
Of course other stresses were their people and duties. Each had to rule over what they had to rule, Kalindria over vampires, Faust over his entire kingdom. He hoped that everything would work out well, he wanted it to so much.
He held her tightly and snuggled closer. "But you have to." He whispered. "And I understand. I love you so much, but I know you can't spend every hour with me. Just know I treasure every moment we are together."

His words put a smile on her lips again, it was what she needed to hear and for now, it was the way things were, and how’d they remain, she knew this, she just needed to hear it from his own lips, that things would be ok.
“Then there is them…” She said with a bit of sarcasm in her tone. “All against what they see, each of them not understanding what it is that you and I have found…” She stopped and sighed softly. “But I will not let all that rear its ugly head now..” She turned around in his arms, to once again face him, draping her own about his neck. “Say you love me every waking moment, Say you need me with you, now and always . . . that's all I ask.” She said then, with a soft voice, her eyes searching his.

“I love you every waking moment." He repeated, his voice clear, his eyes holding all honesty. "I need you with me, now and always. I love you with all my heart."
He placed a hand on her cheek and leaned forward. He kissed her gently, it was such a romantic moment, the proffesion of love, that he couldn't help it. He leaned back and sighed contently.
"Kalindria, my love, I will always love you." He whispered. "I will never stop loving you. I need you, you complete me."

“And I will be with you for all eternity my Love, My lord, my life.” She responded, and then laid her forehead against his neck, her arms closing about his shoulders a bit. “I am your Queen, your dark lover and your friend, all you will ever need do is call and I will be at your side, forever, and throughout eternity, I will never leave you.” She continued then, lifting her head and once again placing her lips softly to his.
“This entire evening had been filled with such romantic gestures and thoughts, feelings She suddenly found herself not wanting it to end again, but she smiled just the time they had spent together, even had they done not but sit around a table looking over plans or papers of boorish content, she would have cherished this night all the same. Truly, she was his, and always would be, no matter the cost.
